Beach WA 472 commences 2 km west of steep rocky Point Hillier. It is a relatively straight 1.5 km long high tide strip of sand, fronted by a near continuous beachrock reef along the shore, with high waves breaking on bars up to 70 m seaward of the reef. There are a few linear tidal pools between the reef and beach, with a permanent rip at the eastern end flowing through a gap in the reef. Following high waves the western end of the beach may be eroded back to the cliffs and separated from the main beach. It is backed by steep, vegetated cliffs rising to 130 m in the east and decreasing to 80 m in the west. The only access to the beaches is on foot from the 4 WD access track to beach WA 473.
Beach Length: 1.5km
