Beach WA 501 is a curving 200 m long beach bordered by a gneiss platform to the east and tied to a small rock outcrop to the west, with reefs extending another 500 m offshore. High waves break on the reef, which lower waves reaching the shore to maintain a reflective to narrow low tide terrace beach. An active climbing blowout backs the beach extending 600 m inland and rising to elevations of 60 m.
