Beach WA 493 commences on the southern side of the Peaceful Bay point and trends south for 800 m. It lies to the lee of one large central rock islet and several small gneiss rocks and reefs, resulting in waves averaging about 1 m at the shore. The waves surge up a relatively steep reflective beach, backed by moderately active dunes extending up to 500 m inland. The dunes were fenced in the 1990’s and are in the process of being stabilized. There is 4 WD access to the beach across the point from Peaceful Bay. Beaches WA 494 and 495 are two strips of high tide sand fronted by jagged gneiss rock platforms and located just south of beach WA 493.
Beach Length: 0.8km
