The eastern beach (WA 499) is a 150 m long, southwest-facing pocket of sand, wedged in between a gneiss point and a low rocky point that separates it from beach WA 500 with rocks also outcropping on the beach. Waves break on reefs 500 m offshore and along both sides of the narrow bay, with a strong permanent rip running out the centre.
