Long Beach (WA 340) commences at 70 m high Black Point and trends to the southwest for 3.3 km to a slightly protruding 20 m high section of calcarenite bluffs. The beach is exposed to waves averaging about 1.5 m at Black Point, which slowly decrease to the west. The waves maintain a 50 m wide surf zone, with a combination of beach rips and occasional sections of intertidal beachrock inducing permanent rips. The beach is backed by a generally stable foredune that onlaps older scarped Pleistocene dunes that extend up to 200 m inland and in turn overlie bedrock. There is 4WD access to Black Point and along the crest of the bluffs backing the eastern half of the beach
