Beach WA 317 commences on the western side of the 50 m long bluffs and curves to the southeast for 1.1 km, terminating against a 50 m high headland. Wave height decreases slowly down the beach, with a continuous low tide terrace only cut by rips towards the northern end. The entire beach is backed by steep 20-30 m high bluffs, with a vehicle track along the top of the bluffs. It descends the southern end where a solitary shack in located behind the beach. Beaches WA 318-322 are four pocket beaches located along a 3 km section of steep rocky coast that extends south of beach WA 317. Waves average about 1 m or less along the shore.
