Beach WA 544 lies to the lee of deeper reefs extending 400 m offshore, which lower waves to about 1.5 m. The beach is 400 m long and protrudes slightly seaward in lee of a continuous beachrock reef, with backing 140 m high vegetated cliffs. Waves break seaward of the reef, washing over the reef to reach the beach.
