Beach WA 563 occupies a curving 500 m wide embayment, bordered to the west by 50 m high West Cliff Point. The beach curves round the base of the embayment for 400 m and is bordered and backed by calcarenite bluffs, with a 200 m wide blowout behind the centre of the beach and extending 500 m inland. Scattered rocks and reefs lie across the bay and lower waves to about 1 m at the shore, where they both surge up the beach as well as break over a central section of rocks. There are several 4 WD tracks reaching the beach through the central blowout.
