Beaches WA 576 and 577 occupy either end of a 700 m long west-facing open embayment located immediately north of Black Head. Beach WA 576 commences 500 m north of Doggerup beach and is a curving 200 m long strip of high tide sand fronted by linear ridges of granulite forming a 50-70 m wide rock platform, and backed by moderately sloping, dune-covered rocks. In addition two small streams drain across the beach and rocks. Waves averaging 2 m break over the rocks to reach the beach.
