Beach WA 580 is located in a small south-facing embayment, 1 km south of the beginning of Meerup beach. The 100 m long pocket of sand faces straight into the high waves, which break on an outer bar over 100 m offshore, then reform to break heavily on the beach. A strong rip drains the narrow surf. Vegetated dunes rise to the east of the beach, with a few shacks located 300 m up the slopes, in lee of a vegetated dune. A walking track leads from the shacks to the beach.
