Doggerup beach (WA 575) is also known as Pebbley Beach in its western corner. The beach is 2.8 km long and faces straight into the southwest waves and winds. High calcarenite bluffs back the eastern end, while the low dark granulite of Black Head border the western end. Waves averaging over 2 m breaks across a 300 m wide double bar surf zone, usually containing four large beach rips and a western boundary rip. It is backed by the Doggerup Dunes, which cover 400 ha and have moved up to 4 km inland and to heights of 60 m, while older vegetated parabolic dunes have reached 5.5 km inland. Doggerup Creek runs through the centre of the active dunes and drains across the eastern end of the beach.
