Windy Harbour beach (WA 568) is a semi-circular shaped, south-facing 1.5 km long beach bordered by the foreland to the west and a low series of granulite ridges to the west (Fig. 4.120). Waves average about 1 m in the west where they continue the low tide terrace, decreasing to less than a metre in the west, where the beach is steep and reflective. It is backed by a 500 m wide foredune ridge plain, with the small settlement built on the ridges. Beside the rows of shacks there is a grassy camping area and beach boat launching behind the rocks, with a few boats moored off the beach, but no other services. A newer subdivision is located in behind the original shacks.
Beach Length: 1.5km
