Immediately west of the rocky point is beach WA 569 an 800 m long, southwest-facing beach, bordered in the west by the inner calcarenite slopes of Point D’Entrecasteaux. The beach is partly protected by Flat Island and receives waves averaging over 1 m, which break across a 50 m wide bar, which is occasionally cut by rips. It is backed by a 20 m high vegetated foredune crossed by two walking tracks, then a gravel road which runs out to a car park at the western end of the beach. This is the most sheltered section of the beach and is bordered by some large calcarenite outcrops called Cathedral Rock.
