Beach WA 589 is a 300 m long beach backed by low bluffs and scarped dunes rising to 20 m in the east, while rocks litters the western end of the beach. The 500 m wide double bar surf zone continues along the beach and past the low boundary bluffs, with a usually deep trough against the beach feeding a large beach rip.
