Beach WA 290 is the main Point Ann beach (Fig. 4.74). It is a 250 m long pocket of sand located between the small 15 m high northern point and the more continuous rocks that extend for 500 m east to Point Ann. The beach receives waves averaging less than 1 m, which usually break across a narrow low tide terrace. The Point Ann road terminates here and runs down the slopes to the beach, which is used to launch small boats. In addition there is a camping area with an amenities block and a bar-b-que. Point Ann is composed of folded red schists, conglomerates and metasedimentary rocks that rise to 30 m in height at the point. Between beach WA 290 and the point are two narrow strips of sand located at the base of the sloping rocks.
Beach Length: 0.25km
