Beach WA 287 is the main bay beach. It commences 1.5 km west of 60 m high Point Charles and curves gently to the southwest for 4.7 km, to a small outcrop of inter and subtidal rocks. Waves average over 1.5 m and maintain a 150 m wide surf zone cut by rips every 400-500 m. It is backed by active climbing parabolic dunes rising over the backing bedrock to 60 m in the centre-east. They extend up to 500 m inland with older vegetated dunes located up to 1 km inland. The dunes increase in stability and decrease in size to the west as the shoreline swings more to the south. There is vehicle access to the slopes above the boundary rocks.
Beach Length: 4.7km
