Beach WA 284 occupies the western half of Twin Bays. It is an 800 m long southeast-facing high energy beach, dominated by a 150 m wide surf zone containing two permanent rips against the boundary headlands and 2-3 beach rips. The beach is backed by a 200-300 m wide bedrock deflation surface, fringed by boundary dunes, then the heath land of the backing valley, while the western 60 m high headland rises to Mid Mount Barren 1.5 km to the north (Fig. 4.72). A vehicle track winds down the backing slopes to reach the southern end of the beach.
